Microsoft's Image Composite Editor didn't do quite so well.
This is promising though... the other things I took photos of were a lot more involved- such as a pedestrian bridge across a canal and a water fall. Not sure when I'll get those posted.

Microsoft ICE is for standing in one spot and rotating e.g. panoramas. In this image set you've moved a considerable amount, so it's more appropriate as a synth.

ReplyDeleteI like to see how different software will respond when challenged. That way I know how it will act, not how its alleged or purported to.
This approach has served me quite delightfully well, ever since I shot medium format B&W when I was an aspiring Ansel Adams.
ReplyDeleteIn my darkroom, I was aware of how things were supposed to work, but I was never happy or satisfied until I had pushed the equipment or technique to the point of failure.
Only by knowing where the point of failure is can true success be achieved.
