Questions: What kind of nest, what kind of tree?

I would like to use this picture in a "fire spirit" like video using cc music by an Indianapolis punk band (I thought the stinging insect idea was congruous with punk)

And this is the early leaf of a tree which grows like underbrush here.

I know its in the chestnut / buckeye family, but I'd like to peg it down before I upload my hundreds of pictures of the progression of its buds to leaves I have taken.
