Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly: A gift and a challenge to tide you by

These are stills I extracted from my videos of the Swallowtail on the lilacs at Butler's Holcomb Gardens.

There's several hundred more where these came from. I used a nifty program called GomPlayer. It lets you save up to 999 stills in a row from a movie file. (You do have to watch the installation carefully or else it will install a toolbar, take over your home page, etc.)

Now, these look nice, but of course they are low resolution.

My challenge to you artistic types- there are a number of ways such images can be enlarged such that they can be viewed or printed at higher resolution have at, lets see what you can do!

I've taken single video frames all the way up to 8x10 with no apparent graininess or pixelation, but for this challenge I'll just set the bar at 5x7.

When the current torrent of torment abates, I'll do a few examples myself and discuss how I got from a to x as I used to do in Mono Mondays.

In the mean time, download these, do what you want to do, and post a link back here on this post if you would.

Have fun, and as Pink Floyd almost sang Wish I was here...
